IV. Configuring Your Studio

Operating under the assumption that your studio does not currently have a Stripe account, you can very easily create one right from the Payment settings page. All you need to do is click on the “Connect with Stripe” button pictured below.

You will then be directed to PhotoDay’s signup portal through Stripe where you will  fill out all of the required information requested on the page, such as your contact and banking information. You’ll then be requested to save your new account under an email address and password. Once that’s all done, you’ll click on the “Authorize access to this account” button, and you’re officially ready to start selling!

Once you have your Payment settings finalized, you can move into the next section: taxes!

Tax requirements can vary wildly based on a studio’s location - not just from state to state but down to the county and district levels as well! The collection of tax requirements of your state, county, and district is referred to as a tax nexus - and PhotoDay sets this up automatically for a studio based on your studio address. If you don’t have a satellite office in another state, or an out-of-state employee, you don’t really need to touch this section at all. However, if you decide to hire out-of-state, or open another office elsewhere, you might need to revisit this section and add an additional nexus. As always, be sure to consult with a professional accountant if there are any questions regarding tax collection.

Finally, there is the logo and watermark section.

We always want to keep your studio’s brand in front of your customers - so this section will help you do that. Here, you can upload both your company logo, as well as any graphic you would care to use as your watermark. Your logo will be used for customer-facing activities like in promotional flyers and AdvancePay credits. The watermark is a great way to protect your photos from being copied without purchasing. We have a default watermark in place which works very well, but we encourage you to use a branded watermark to protect photos.

To upload your logo, simply click on the “Upload” button, and choose your logo from your computer.

Down further on the page is where you can upload your watermark. When there is no custom watermark uploaded, PhotoDay will place its own default watermark in its place, as seen here:

If you would like to replace the default watermark with your own (and we encourage you to!), simply go ahead and click on the replace button and upload your watermark image file from your computer.

For the best effect, we recommend the file being used as a watermark be a transparent PNG file. However, any image format will work! Once the watermark is selected, its position, opacity and scale can be adjusted via the controls to the right.

The watermark’s size and positioning can then be previewed by clicking on the “Preview” button.

When you are satisfied with how your logo and watermark look, you’re all done setting up your studio information. You can now move on to your storefront!
